A Southwest Airlines plane parked at a gate was struck by a provisioning truck Monday morning at Pittsburgh International Airport.
The ramp agent who was driving the vehicle was taken to a hospital, a Southwest spokesman said.
No further information was available on the driver’s condition. There were no reports of any injuries to those on board the aircraft, the spokesman said.
Airport operations are unaffected, airport spokesman Bob Kerlik said.
The incident occurred shortly before 10:30 a.m. The plane at gate A1 was a Boeing 737-800 that was scheduled to fly to Denver with 174 passengers on board and a crew of six. The aircraft will be taken out of service, and the airline is working to get customers to their destinations as quickly as possible, the Southwest spokesman said.
