13-year-old Pittsburgh boy dies after collapsing while playing football

A 13-year-old boy died after he collapsed while playing football in Pittsburgh, police said.

Jordan Duckett of Pittsburgh died Wednesday after he collapsed while running off a field in the city’s Chartiers neighborhood, according to the Allegheny County coroner’s office.

Pittsburgh Bureau of EMS, Fire and Police responded to reports of an unresponsive boy on a playing field at Chartiers Avenue and Middletown Way just before 7:40 p.m. Wednesday.

He was transported to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, where he was pronounced dead.
