Pittsburgh teen dies after shooting in Duquesne Heights

A teenager who was shot Sunday afternoon in Pittsburgh’s Duquesne Heights neighborhood has died, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Alexander Alman, 16, of Pittsburgh was pronounced dead around 1:30 a.m. Monday at UPMC Mercy hospital.

Pittsburgh police responded to a 911 call of a shot fired in the 300 block of Fingal Street just before 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Officers found a teenage boy, who had been shot once, inside a residence. He was transported to UPMC Mercy in critical condition.

Another teenage boy who was in the home was taken for questioning by police.

Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit responded to process the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
