A boy remained in critical condition Friday after he was shot in McKeesport the previous night, police said.

Police and paramedics responded to Hamilton Street just before 7 p.m. for a report of shots fired and a potentially injured person, said Allegheny County police Lt. Ken Ruckel. First responders found a 15-year-old boy with multiple gunshot wounds on nearby Dinsmore Street.

Paramedics took the teen to the hospital, where he was last reported to be in critical condition, Ruckel said.

Investigators said the boy was standing with a group of teens on Hamilton Street when someone opened fire on the group. Only the 15-year-old was injured.

Ruckel said police do not have a motive for the shooting, and no suspects have been identified.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Allegheny County Police through their social media sites of the tip line: 1-833-255-8477. Callers can stay anonymous.
