Three employees at the Penn Hills Shop ‘n Save supermarket tested positive for covid-19 infections Tuesday and Wednesday, according to store officials.

A representative said the store remains open for business while the staff has stepped up sanitizing procedures that already were in place.

The three employees are quarantined at home and other workers who came in contact with them were getting tested and asked to self-quarantine for 14 days.

Posting on the Hartley Family Shop ‘n Save Stores Facebook page, store officials said two of the involved employees last worked at the store on June 25, the third on June 27. According to the post, “The affected employees were of low contact with customers and we feel that the risk to the public is low.”

Employees who may have had close contact with the three were told not to work until they also have been tested.

Extensive cleaning of the store began on June 27.

The store also is following contact tracing procedures and is requiring daily temperature checks for all employees at the beginning of their shifts.
