Trick-or-treaters turn out for Mt. Lebanon’s Halloween parade
Families and children dressed up Saturday for the Mt. Lebanon Pumpkin Patch Parade, an annual Halloween event.
The rain mostly held off and the grey skies did not deter people from enjoying the holiday parade, which kicked off at 11 a.m., beginning at the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery and running through the uptown business district.
McGruff the Crime Dog and Sparky the Fire Dog walked with the township police and fire departments.
The high school marching band, local Boys Scouts and Girls Scouts troops, and other organizations and business dressed in costumes and performed along the route. Candies were given out to trick-or-treaters.
State and local officials also walked the parade, including Congressman Conor Lamb, state Sen. Pam Iovino, state Rep. Dan Miller, Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald and Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen A. Zappala Jr.
After the parade local businesses handed out candies and treats to trick-or-treaters.
And then the rain started.
