Utility pole fire causes Scott Township power outage

Two utility poles caught fire in Scott Township on Feb. 5, 2019, causing a power outage for about 300 residents.

More than 300 Scott Township residents were without power overnight after two utility poles caught fire and two transformers were damaged.

Crews responded to the 300 block of Old Washington Pike at about 3:30 a.m., WPXI reported.

No township power outages remained listed on Duquesne Light’s website by 5:30 a.m.
