A former subcontractor at the Bettis Atomic Energy Laboratory in West Mifflin was sentenced to 18 months in prison after being convicted of stealing $250,000 in taxpayer money, U.S. Attorney Scott W. Brady announced Wednesday.
Robert Lazur, 31, was working for BWXT Technical Services Group performing a subcontract at the Bettis lab, and used a company credit card to make fraudulent purchases disguised as contract expenses, prosecutors said.
Most of the purchases were then sold on the eBay website.
Lazur faces 18 months in jail and three years of supervised release.
