A large brush fire in Shaler has caused a few streets to close and homes to lose power Tuesday.

Allegheny County officials tweeted several telephone and electrical poles with high tension wires sheared at about 5:15 p.m.

The wires came down causing a large brush fire between Fawcett Field and the 200 block of Garden Lane. No injuries were reported.

The down lines are believed to have impacted homes in the area.

Five Duquesne Light customers in Shaler are without power as of 6:20 p.m., according to the company website.
