Pittsburgh EMS, fire and police rescued a woman early Tuesday who was stuck in a tree on the hillside below P.J. McArdle Roadway on Mt. Washington.

The 19-year-old woman had been walking along P.J. McArdle Roadway near the Monongahela Incline when she saw an unknown man she believed was following her, according to a statement from the Pittsburgh Public Safety Department.

The woman told police that she got scared, dropped the suitcase she was carrying and jumped the fence near the incline, sliding down the hillside before getting caught in the tree, the statement said.

The woman was not injured. Police recovered the suitcase and drove her to the home where she was staying, the statement said.

An investigation is ongoing.
