A crowd gathers to watch fireworks at Penn Avenue and Seventh Street in Downtown Pittsburgh to celebrate First Night and ring in 2022 as part of the New Year’s Eve celebration on Friday.

Thousands of people flocked to Downtown Pittsburgh on Friday night to ring in 2022.

Among the main attractions of the night was a 50-foot inflatable rabbit, and three smaller, similar creatures, courtesy of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust.

Joining the giant rabbits for the New Year’s Eve festivities was a full slate of indoor and outdoor events throughout the 14-block radius of Pittsburgh’s Cultural District. The evening started with a bang via the Dollar Bank Children’s Fireworks around 6 p.m.
