Terrence Washington, 36, of Pittsburgh is wanted on homicide charges for killing an East Liberty woman in November.

A Pittsburgh man wanted on homicide charges for allegedly killing a woman in November was apprehended Thursday in Seattle.

Terrence Washington, 36, was arrested without incident by a U.S. Marshals Task Force, Seattle police and the King County Sheriff’s Department, reported Phil Cornelious, chief deputy U.S. marshal of the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Washington was wanted on charges of criminal homicide and firearms violations in connection with the Nov. 10 killing of Makeida Thompson in East Liberty.

Court records show Thompson had taken out a temporary protection from abuse order (PFA) against Washington five days earlier.

Police responded to a home along the 5700 block of Rippey Street just after 11 a.m. that morning for a report of a shooting, according to the criminal complaint. They found Thompson, 32, dead on a couch after being shot in the head multiple times. Investigators recovered seven casings and a live bullet at the scene.

Police say a witness was in the home at the time of the shooting. According to the criminal complaint, they told police Thompson was sitting on the couch when Washington — who the witness knew as Terrence Zeppenfeldt — pulled out a gun and began shooting.

Thompson was killed just days before a final hearing on a protection from abuse order.

Court records show and a final hearing was scheduled for Nov. 13. The PFA awarded Thompson temporary custody of the 1-year-old child she had with Washington.

Online court documents indicate Washington’s preliminary hearing back in Pittsburgh has not yet been scheduled.

Anyone with information about the shooting incident is asked to contact Pittsburgh police at 412-861-1845.
