Pittsburgh man accused in Nov. 10 homicide remains at large

Terrence Washington, 36, of Pittsburgh is wanted on homicide and firearms charges for allegedly killing an East Liberty woman in November.

Pittsburgh police continue to search for a manaccused of killing an East Liberty woman last month.

Terrence Washington, 36, of Pittsburgh is wanted on charges of criminal homicide and firearms violations in connection with the Nov. 10 killing of Makeida Thompson.

Police responded to a home along the 5700 block of Rippey Street just after 11 a.m. that morning for a report of a shooting, according to the criminal complaint. They found Thompson, 32, dead on the couch from multiple gunshots to her head, and investigators recovered seven casings and a live bullet at the scene.

A witness who was in the home at the time of the shooting told police Thompson was sitting on the couch when Washington, who the witness knew as Terrence Zeppenfeldt, pulled out a gun and began shooting, according to the complaint.

Thompson was killed just days before a final hearing on a protection from abuse order.

Court records show Thompson had taken out a temporary PFA against Washington on Nov. 5, and a final hearing was scheduled for 9 a.m. Nov. 13. The PFA awarded Thompson temporary custody of the 1-year-old child she had with Washington.

Thompson’s relatives described her as a devoted mother, beloved daughter, adored sister and more in obituary information.

Her funeral was Nov. 17 at Mt. Olive First Baptist Church.

Washington isBlack, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds, according to police.
