Pittsburgh man charged in attack on parents in Crafton

A Crafton couple were taken to a hospital in critical condition Tuesday and their son was charged with attempted homicide, accused of of beating them, Allegheny County police said.

Authorities found a man and woman hurt inside the home and police said witnesses reported seeing a man, later identified as Michael Provenzano, 36, of Pittsburgh,sitting on the front porch of the home, police said.

Witness interviews and evidence collected at the scene indicate he is responsible for the assault, police said.

Provenzano was charged with two counts of attempted homicide and two counts of aggravated assault.
