Pittsburgh man jailed on assault, robbery charges in incident near Pitt campus

A 28-year-old man was jailed for allegedly robbing and assaulting a person early Thursday morning near the University of Pittsburgh in Oakland, police said.

The suspect, Jason Moran, 28, is accused of assaulting a victim around 1:30 a.m. in the 4000 block of Fifth Avenue.

The victim was not injured, and was able to describe the suspect as being 5-foot-8-inches tall, wearing a multi-colored jacket, and dark hat.

Moran was taken to the Allegheny County Jail facing multiple assault charges, and robbery, police said.

Additional details about Moran’s arrest were not available from police.
