Man found dead along Route 28 near Chesnut Street; Pittsburgh police investigating
The Pittsburgh police’s Collision Investigation Unit responded Tuesday night to the city’s East Allegheny neighborhood after a man was found dead along Route 28.
Police said they received reports at about 7:30 p.m. of a man who may have fallen in the road near the Chestnut Street exit.
First responders were called to the northbound exit ramp to Chestnut Street following a report that the man may have fallen while walking along the road, TribLive news partner WTAE reported.
Officials said the man had suffered significant trauma. He was dead at the scene.
The man’s name had not been released Tuesday night as police continued their investigation.
