Pittsburgh police say this SUV was involved in a hit-and-run in the city’s Hill District Feb. 1.

Pittsburgh police said the man behind the wheel of a SUV that hit a 4-year-old boy in the city’s Hill District has turned himself in.

James Phelps, 74, of Pittsburgh was taken to the Allegheny County Jail without incident Saturday.

Phelps is charged with aggravated assault, accidents involving injury, careless driving and failure to stop and give information and render aid.

The 4-year-old boy was hurt Thursday afternoon in the 2600 block of Webster Avenue. He was taken to a hospital and listed in stable condition, police said.
