A man was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in the city’s Homewood West neighborhood.

Public Safety spokeswoman Cara Cruz said officers responded to a pedestrian struck by a vehicle shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday along the 800 block of Lincoln Avenue.

Cruz said the man suffered injuries to his torso and leg, and the driver fled from the scene.

Police did not release a description of the vehicle.

Anyone with information about the incident can contact Pittsburgh police at 412-323-7800.
