Pittsburgh police: Man shot and killed in Northview Heights

A man was killed in a shooting in Northview Heights on Thursday night, Pittsburgh police said.

Emergency crews were called to the 300 block of Penfort Street at 7:47 p.m.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office identified the victim as Girard Porter, 47, of McKeesport.

Police said he was shot in the head and chest; he was dead at the scene.

There was no information immediately released about a possible suspect.
