One man was killed and another wounded in separate shootings overnight along the same block in Pittsburgh’s Northview Heights neighborhood, according to authorities.

Authorities identified the deceased as Tyjuan Malachi, 18, of Pittsburgh.

Officers responded just before 9:15 p.m. Wednesday to Shotspotter notifications of several rounds fired in the 800 block of Mount Pleasant Road.

A short time later, a man arrived at a local hospital by private means suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. His condition was not released.

Pittsburgh detectives processed evidence at the scene.

Officers were still in the area when they received a second Shotspotter alert just after midnight Thursday for multiple rounds fired in the same block of Mt. Peasant Road.

Police located the victim, identified late Thursday as Malachi.

He was taken to Allegheny General Hospital where he died, according to an update from the medical examiner.

The medical examiner’s office said he had been shot in the head.
