A negotiation with a man in crisis that spurred a seven-hour closure of Route 28 on the North Side ended successfully at about 9 a.m. Saturday morning, police said.

The situation started about 2 a.m., when the man threatened to jump from the East Ohio Street overpass in the city’s Deutschtown neighborhood.

Route 28 was closed until about 9 a.m., when the man was taken into custody and transported to a hospital for treatment, police said.

????ALERT???? State Route 28 is currently closed in both directions at East Ohio Street due to an individual threatening to jump from the overpass.

Negotiators are at the scene and working towards a safe resolution.
