Man found shot to death inside vehicle in Homewood North

A man was found shot to death in Pittsburgh’s Homewood North neighborhood Monday night, according to Pittsburgh police.

Officers responded to an alert for multiple rounds fired in the 7400 block of Monticello Street around 10:35 p.m.

An officer found the man inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The victim was identified as Eric Thomas, 20, by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office.

Police had no descriptions of any suspects. Police were continuing to investigate.

This is the second fatal shooting in the Homewood North neighborhood in as many days. Ebony McCary, 27, of Pittsburgh died about an hour after police found her shot in the 1000 block of Blackadore Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Monday.
