Pittsburgh police seek hit-and-run driver in Lawrenceville incident, victim stable
A man was hospitalized in stable condition after being struck by a vehicle in Lawrenceville.
Pittsburgh Public Safety spokeswoman Cara Cruz said city police responded to the hit-and-run of a pedestrian around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of 40th Street and Penn Avenue.
Cruz said officers found the victim alert and in a wheelchair. He was transported to a hospital by EMS for evaluation.
The driver fled the scene. Officers are following up on witness accounts and descriptions of the vehicle and license plate.
