A shooting left a toddler in critical condition in Pittsburgh on Sunday, police said.

The circumstances of the shooting were not immediately available.

Officers responded to Allegheny General Hospital on the city’s North Side about 4:10 p.m. for a report of a child with a gunshot wound, authorities said. A toddler had been brought to the emergency room entrance via a private vehicle.

The child was transferred to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in critical condition. Authorities did not release the child’s age, and a spokeswoman said investigators are still working to determine where they shooting took place.
