A Pittsburgh Public Schools employee has been ordered to stand trial on charges that he raped a 14-year-old girl this summer at his Baldwin home.

Bryan Deering, 46, is accused of giving the girl alcohol and at least two “marijuana cigarettes” before sexually assaulting and raping her after a night of drinking, according to a criminal complaint filed in the case. The girl repeatedly told Deering to stop, the complaint said.

Deering was arrested and taken to Allegheny County Jail on Sept. 5, court records show. He posted $15,000 bail and was released. He had a preliminary hearing Tuesday in front of District Judge Ralph E. Kaiser.

Pittsburgh Public Schools told WTAE-TV last month that it placed Deering on leave after his arrest. Spokeswoman Ebony Pugh said Wednesday that Deering’s status has not changed.

According to a school directory, Deering works as a heavy cleaner and fireman at Brashear High School in Beechview.

Sewickley attorney Stephanie A. Shriver, who represents Deering, did not return a call seeking comment.

Deering is charged with rape, indecent assault, indecent assault on a person with a mental disability, indecent assault without consent, statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, sexual assault, endangering the welfare of children, attempted involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, two counts of corruption of minors and three counts of furnishing liquor to a minor, court records show.

All of the charges, six of them felonies, will head to Allegheny County Court, records show. His preliminary hearing in that court is scheduled for Nov. 30.
