Pittsburgh Public Schools to hold community forums on superintendent search
Pittsburgh Public Schools is holding community forums Wednesday and Thursday to seek input on its search for a new superintendent.
Five meetings will be held in person, while a sixth meeting will be held virtually.
“There is no more important decision we will make as a board than selecting the right superintendent for our district. Community engagement is an essential part of this process,” said school board President Sala Udin.
The school board in March hired Illinois-based consulting firm BWP & Associates to lead a national search for a replacement for Anthony Hamlet, who resigned in October amid criticism over pandemic-related schooling decisions and violations found by the state Ethics Commission. Wayne Walters was named interim superintendent in September.
