Pittsburgh’s Snow Angels program is accepting applications.

The program pairs older city residents with volunteers who help shovel snow and put salt down during the winter.

To participate as a recipient of the help, a people must live in the city and be at least 60 years old or have a disability and lack other resources for snow removal and winter maintenance.

Those who would like to volunteer to be “snow angels” can register online by clicking here.

In 2019-20, the program saw over 276 neighbors matched with volunteers, according to the city.

“We’re pleased that the Snow Angels Program has grown every year, but there are always more vulnerable residents who need help than volunteers,” Mayor Bill Peduto said in a statement. “I encourage Pittsburgh residents to sign up as a Snow Angel to help a neighbor in their community.”
