Armstrong Tunnels in Pittsburgh to close for 3 hours Friday morning

The Armstrong Tunnels in Pittsburgh will close from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday for investigation work, according to the county’s Department of Public Works.

During the closure, inbound drivers should use Second Avenue, Ross Street and Forbes Avenue, while outbound motorists should drive on Forbes Avenue, Chatham Square, Fifth Avenue, Ross Street and Second Avenue.

There will not be a posted detour route.

Duquesne Light will complete investigation work during the three-hour closure, according to public works.
