Part of Grant Street in Downtown Pittsburgh will be closed until Friday afternoon as the city removes its Christmas tree and wreaths from the City-County Building, according to the mayor’s office.

Grant will be closed between its intersections with Third and Fifth avenues until 2 p.m., the mayor’s office said in a statement.

Pittsburghers looking to recycle their own Christmas trees can make use of one of 11 drop-off sites throughout the city. The sites, which collect more than 2,300 trees each year, will be open until Jan. 26.

Ornaments, netting, tinsel, lights and tree stands must be removed beforehand. Free pine mulch from the trees will be available in the spring for residents to use.

Tree drop-off locations include:

• East End — 6814 Hamilton Ave., the intersection of North Dallas and Hamilton avenues, 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Monday- Saturday

• Hazelwood — 40 Melanchton St., 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Monday-Friday

• West End — 1330 Hassler St., off Herschel and Steuben streets, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Friday and 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday
