Children’s use of smartphones will be the subject of a presentation Feb. 7 at Plum Middle School.
Ryan Klingensmith, founder of “Shape the Sky,” will discuss what children may really be doing on their phones and other electronic devices during Plum School District’s third and final Community Connections Night for the 2022-23 school year.
The presentation, “Shape the Sky: Shaping the Way Our Children Use Smartphones,” will begin at 6 p.m. in the middle school’s auditorium.
Shape the Sky provides educational resources and tools to help adults learn about risky behaviors on the internet and social media, and how to instill good behaviors and create responsible children online and on their smartphones.
Klingensmith will provide an insider’s perspective on the world of social media that children live in so parents are better informed on how to talk about difficult topics with them.
The program is proprietary and cannot be recorded, according to the district. Those unable to attend in-person can view the program online on the district’s website, pbsd.net. A link to the event will be posted the week of Jan. 30.
