Three Plum High School seniors represented the district in a competition against Thomas Jefferson and Pine Richland students.

Joey Panichella, Lily Klucinec and Erica Taylor took part in KDKA’s Hometown High-Q contest earlier this month.

It is scheduled to air at 11 a.m. Saturday and at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 21.

The contest is usually run like a game show, with teams buzzing in with their answers. The competition was altered this time around due to covid-19.

Panichella said it was all online with schools given questions in rounds. Topics included literature, history, geography and math.

“It was a fun experience for me and my friends,” he said. “Everyone that we competed against were very talented and smart people. It will be very exciting to see me and my friends on TV.”

Those who wish to see the competition can check with their local TV listings for channel information.
