An educational series for nonprofessional caregivers on how to reduce stress, communicate feelings and other topics will soon take place.
The six-week free series called “Powerful Tools for Caregivers” is through the Allegheny County Department of Human Services Area Agency on Aging.
Topics include mastering caregiving decisions, learning from our emotions and communicating in challenging situations.
Participants must be present for all six sessions.
Winter sessions are scheduled for these locations:
Riverview Community Action Corp. at 501 2nd St. in Oakmont. Classes are slated for 12:30-2:30 p.m. Jan. 18, 25 and Feb. 1, 8, 15 and 22. Plum Senior Community Center at 499 Center New Texas Road in Plum. Classes are planned for 12:30-2:30 p.m. March 11, 18, 25 and April 1, 8 and 15. Valley Care Adult Day Center at 650 Cherrington Parkway in Moon Township. Classes are set for 1-3 p.m. March 8, 15, 22, 29 and April 5 and 12.Registration is required and space is limited.
