Children in Plum and surrounding communities can get free meals this summer at Holiday Park Elementary.

The school at 313 Holiday Park Drive is one of the host sites for the Summer Food Service Program.

Children ages 18 and younger can get free meals from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday from June 24 through Aug. 1.

There will also be storytelling and crafts. The program is funded though the federal Department of Agriculture and administered through the state Department of Education.

“The summer food program will offer fun activities that help kids stay active while enjoying healthy, nutritious meals over the summer months,” said Jessica Griggle, Plum School District food services director.

Participants do not need to be Plum residents. More information about the program is available at bit.ly/2SwEm6y.
