Fish fry season has begun and one of the major fundraising food providers in Plum is the Holiday Park Volunteer Fire Department.

About 25 volunteers prepare and serve hand-breaded fried cod, pierogies, crab cakes, french fries, cole slaw, mac’n cheese and more.

Led by fish fry coordinator Josh Scalamonga, more than 5,000 pounds of fish is expected to be sold through Good Friday.

The department went with a new fish provider for a larger sandwich. Holiday Park also added a new fryer and more people on the phones taking orders to streamline service.

Prices went up on certain menu items to help offset costs.

Lunch each Friday is set for 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and dinner is 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Delivery is available with a minimum $20 order. Call 724-327-3456 or go to holidayparkvfd.org for more information.
