An early autumn rain Saturday gave way to afternoon sunshine as hundreds of people packed Allegheny River Boulevard for the Oakmont Chamber of Commerce inaugural Fall Festival.

About 50 vendors from candle makers, brew houses, arts and crafters and other organizations participated in the event.

The boulevard was blocked off from Pennsylvania to Washington avenues for the family-friendly event, sponsored by Greater Pitt Tree Service.

Pittsburgh musician Jake Rubenstein was one of several performers at the festival.

Castle Toys and Games offered pumpkin painting for children.

National cartoonist and Charles M. Schulz Museum resident cartoonist Joe Wos illustrated stories and had a guessing game for one of his drawing sessions.

An inflatable obstacle course, face painting, food vendors and a scarecrow decorating contest were among the other activities.

The event was organized by Mystery Lovers Bookshop co-owner Tara Goldberg-DeLeo and a few other volunteers.
