Letter to the editor: Plum library happy to welcome back public
Dear Editor and Neighbors,
What a year it has been thus far! The covid-19 news has impacted all of us with many changes as to how we conduct our daily lives. The Plum Community Library is working hard to address the many challenges we are experiencing, while providing the best possible service to the public.
At this time, we are following the guidelines mandated by the Office of Commonwealth Libraries. Services available include the ability to place requests for countywide material online or via the telephone; curbside service for the drop off and pickup of all materials; downloadable books, magazines, and music; and virtual participation in adult and children’s programs and resources.
The staff and trustees are excited to “welcome” you back. Beginning on Sept. 14, barring unforeseen circumstances, your library will resume full services to the public. When entering the library, one will take note of the many measures that will be taken to ensure a safe, as well as pleasurable, experience. Face masks must be worn and social distancing will be practiced. Plexiglass shields have been placed at the circulation desk, and surfaces will be sanitized regularly.
Returning patrons will also be aware that several familiar faces are absent. During the past months of closure, these long-time staff members, Joe Robatzek, Suzanne Teti, and Anne Koenig have chosen to begin a new chapter in their lives. They will be remembered for their commitment and outstanding service to the community. While they will be sorely missed, we wish them good health and happiness wherever the future will lead them.
Your PA Forward Gold Star Library is looking forward to your return.
We have missed you!
