Our Lady of Joy Catholic Church in Plum opened its Lenten fish fry season on Ash Wednesday.

It is takeout only due to the covid pandemic. Volunteers serve patrons in a drive-thru format with a group taking orders near the main entrance and other volunteers downstairs in the kitchen filling orders.

Many of the volunteers are from the church’s Knights of Columbus Council 12219.

The menu is limited to a fried fish dinner with fries, coleslaw and individually wrapped cookies. The cost is $12.

There is no haluski, baked fish, mac and cheese or any ala carte items.

Fish fry hours are 4 to 7 p.m. every Friday, including Good Friday.

Our Lady of Joy is one of four churches in Holy Family Parish that has fish fries this year.

The other three are also takeout only. More information is available at holyfamilypgh.org or by calling 412-828-9846.
