Plum artist featured with ‘Hare Today, Gone Tomorrow’
Dabster Arts Inc. presents “Hare Today, Gone Tomorrow,” a solo exhibition featuring the artwork of Plum resident Bob Freyer.
The exhibition can be viewed in its entirety on the ARTSY collector’s platform through June 25.
Freyer draws inspiration from the classic Pop Art movement but has his own, unique style. A family man born in Pittsburgh, he is drawn to the pop genre and incorporates influences from his childhood in the 1980s and ’90s, such as Saturday morning cartoons, BMX, hip hop and skateboarding.
He uses a variety of mediums such as spray paint, oils, charcoal and inks to create a genetic code of dramatic art, and maintains a consistent tension between self-expression and spontaneous gesture throughout his body of work. Freyer’s ability to combine vivid color and personal commentary reflects his “controlled chaos” style of painting.
The exhibition features Freyer’s recurring character, the Blue Bunny, which is strategically placed in each composition. The Blue Bunny serves as a sentimental yet savage docent, guiding viewers through the artist’s emotions, memories and traumas. Freyer considers the Blue Bunny a Saturday Morning incarnation of his life experiences and observations.
Freyer loves to paint with his children and says they have taught him to have fun and enjoy the process.
Dabster Arts Inc. is dedicated to enhancing the contemporary art experience for artists, collectors and viewers in and outside the gallery setting. For Bob Freyer’s exhibition, visit www.dabart.me/hare-today.
