The Plum Chamber of Commerce will hold its inaugural Touch-A-Truck event.

The event, held rain or shine, will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 4 at Plum Senior High School, 900 Elicker Road.

There will be trucks and vehicles of all kinds for children to experience, such as a news van, Allegheny County Police SWAT vehicle, a Life Flight helicopter, dump trucks, garbage trucks, backhoes and others. Visitors can also pay $5 to ride in the monster truck, “Daddy’s Nightmare.”

The various vehicles will take up parking space, so the Plum Chamber will offer complimentary shuttle rides to and from the event from Pivik Elementary School, 151 School Road.

The event will feature food from various food trucks, games, vendors and raffles. The Pittsburgh Pirates’ mascot, the Pirate Parrot, will also stop by.

The event costs $5 for children aged 2 to 18. Prices will be capped to $20 per family.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Plum Chamber of Commerce’s outreach programs.
