‘Sounds of Christmas’ set for Nov. 6

The traditional Latshaw Pops Orchestra show “The Sounds of Christmas” is scheduled for 7 p.m. Nov. 6 at the Oaks Theater, 310 Allegheny River Blvd., Oakmont.

“The Sounds of Christmas” is a 90-minute musical celebration featuring a 22-piece orchestra conducted by Maestro Bruce Lauffer, along with singers, dancers and a master of ceremonies. Tickets are available at theoakstheater.com and by calling 412-828-6322 or 1-888-718-4253. Tickets are $38 for general admission.

Spaghetti dinner in Plum

The Presbyterian Church of Plum Creek, 550 Center New Texas Road, Plum, is hosting a spaghetti dinner on Nov. 12.

Cost is $12 for adults and $6 for children over 5. Dinner includes spaghetti, meatballs, bread, salad, beverage and dessert. Call the church for a reservation at 412-793-4525.

Proceeds benefit the Plum Food Pantry. If possible, attendees are asked to donate a nonperishable food item at the dinner.

Oakmont line dancing

Join RCAC, the senior center in Oakmont, for line dancing every Friday.

Beginners’ line dancing starts at 9:15 a.m., followed by a class for more experienced dancers at 10. Cost is $1 per class. No registration is necessary.

The classes will be held at RCAC, 501 Second St.

Reunion luncheon in Verona

Kerr Presbyterian Church, 157 Bridge St., Verona, will hold a Thanksgiving homecoming/reunion luncheon on Nov. 13.

Service begins at 11 a.m., followed by the luncheon. RSVP at 412-793-5508 or kerrchurch.com by Nov. 4.

Toy drive in progress

Lower Valley Athletic Foundation Christmas Toy Drive runs through the first week of December.

Donation boxes are at Inner Groove Brewing and the Verona Borough Building, both along East Railroad Avenue. Organizers are looking for new, unopened toys for children of all ages.

Toy distribution is expected a week before Christmas. The foundation will reach out to local schools and churches to find families in need. Details areavailable on the Lower Valley Athletic Foundation’s Facebook page.
