Plum's Movies in the Park series continues this Saturday at Larry Mills Park

Plum officials added another movie to their Movies in the Park series.

“Sonic the Hedgehog,” an action-adventure comedy film based on the Sega video game franchise, will be screened at Larry Mills Park on Saturday.

Attendees can find their spots starting at 6:30 p.m. The movie starts at dusk.

Plum Rotary will provide free popcorn.

The borough’s Movies in the Park was expected to end last month.

Vince Lagrotteria, the borough’s audio/visual director, said another show was added by popular demand.

“We had so many requests at the end of the August event for adding an additional movie in September, borough staff approached council and council thought it was a great idea,” he said.

The Paramount Pictures production is directed by Jeff Fowler and stars Jim Carrey (Dr. Robotnik), Ben Schwartz (Sonic), James Marsden (Tom Wachowski), Tika Sumpter (Maddie Wachowski) and Neal McDonough (Major Bennington).

It tells a tale of a small, blue, fast hedgehog, and a small-town police officer who helps him defeat an evil genius who wants to do experiments on the fur ball.

Attendees can bring their own drinks. People who wish to move about the grounds or go to concessions should wear masks.

Audio is broadcast via theater speakers and on an FM radio station for people who want to sit in their cars. Info on the station will be available at the event. Trivia games may be played before the movie.
