Six-year old Laura Antonio masters multiple hula hoops at Plum Boro’s inagural Fall Fest last year. The event was similar to an Octoberfest, with craft beers, ciders and other beverages, a variety of games, a pumpkin patch, food trucks and fun for all.

Plum’s second annual Fall Fest aims to keep the borough’s new family-friendly autumn tradition going.

The event is scheduled for noon to 7 p.m. Saturday at Plum Creek Park along New Texas Road, across from the borough building.

“There will be plenty of activities for all ages,” event organizer Mona Costanza said. “Last year, we held our first event and it was well attended. We expect this year’s event to be even bigger and better. This is a great, free family event and we encourage everyone to stop down and enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of fall.”

Activities include potato sack races, open-play cornhole, face painting, music, pumpkin patch, pumpkin decorating, and children’s games.

Free pony rides will be available from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Donations for the Plum Angel Fund will be accepted. It provides needy borough families a merry Christmas.

Food vendors include Dad’s Pub and Grub food truck, Oakmont Bakery, Pappy’s Gourmet and Kettle Corn, Wood-Fire Grill by Strada Italian Street Food and various craft beers.

Other groups and individuals will be selling fudge, jellies, jams, salsa and honey.

More information about the event is available at plumboro.com.
