A man is dead and a woman in critical condition after being shot early Monday morning in Duquesne, according to Allegheny County Police.

First responders were called to the 100 block of Commonwealth Avenue just after 5 a.m., where they found a man and woman who’d been shot.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the woman was transported to the hospital in critical condition, police said.

The Allegheny County medical examiner’s office identified the male victim as Sean Russell Johnson Jr., 30, of Turtle Creek.

Detectives are investigating.
