Police: 2 gas stations in Pittsburgh’s East End robbed at gunpoint overnight

Pittsburgh police are investigating a pair of armed robberies that occurred early Monday morning in the city’s East End.

The first incident occurred at the 1:25 a.m. at the Marathon gas station in the 4000 block of Penn Avenue, which is in the city’s Lower Lawrenceville section, according to police.

The second robbery was at 1:45 a.m. at a Shell gas station along the 5700 block of Baum Boulevard in East Liberty.

In both cases, two men entered the business and demanded money. At least one of the men was armed with a gun. The pair made off with cash and cigarettes.
