A SWAT situation in Pittsburgh’s Knoxville neighborhood ended with the surrender of a man wanted on sexual assault charges, police say.

Pittsburgh Police spokeswoman Cara Cruz said Pittsburgh Police and U.S. Marshals were asked to assist with the apprehension of Christopher Wilson, who was wanted by Allegheny County Police.

Wilson, 38, was charged by county police in Mt. Oliver Borough in December with several felonies, including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, unlawful contact with a minor and endangering the welfare of children.

A criminal complaint filed against Wilson alleges that he forced a young child to perform sex acts.

SWAT crews were called after Wilson barricaded himself in a home on the 100 block of Orchard Place in Knoxville, near the municipal border with Mt. Oliver Borough, according to Cruz.

He surrendered without incident shortly after and was taken to Allegheny County Jail, Cruz said.
