A Mt. Oliver man wanted on attempted homicide and other charges in connection with a shooting in Pittsburgh’s Hill District has been captured.

Renato Shealey, 40, was apprehended Monday evening and taken to the Allegheny County Jail.

Pittsburgh police charged him with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, robbery and firearms violations for his alleged involvement in a shooting incident around 2:30 a.m. along the 400 block of Heldman Street.

City police responded to the area early Monday morning for a call of a man shot in the Hill District.

Officers discovered evidence of a shooting and found the victim on the first floor of a building suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

The man was conscious and alert but in critical condition when medics took him to a local hospital, investigators said.

Anyone with information about the shooting can contact Pittsburgh police at 412-323-7161.
