A man was fatally shot Tuesday night in Wilkinsburg, Allegheny County police said.
Dispatchers were called shortly before 9 p.m. to the 700 block of South Avenue, where first responders found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to the head, according to an Allegheny County alert.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Authorities said the man was found in the roadway near the intersection of South and Center avenues. County police and multiple local police departments blocked off the area to traffic while investigators worked the scene, TribLive news partner WTAE reported.
The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating.
