Police investigating after human remains found in wooded area of Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar neighborhood

Pittsburgh police responded to an emergency call just before 2:15 p.m. Sunday for a possible human skull found by hunters in a wooded area of the Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar neighborhood.

According to a post on the public safety blotter, detectives were dispatched to the 1200 block of Washington Boulevard for further investigation.

Additional human remains were located nearby. It was not immediately clear whether the decedent is male or female.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office is working to determine the cause and manner of death. No further information was available as of Sunday night.
