Police investigating death of 9-month-old in Homewood

Pittsburgh police on Sunday were investigating the death of a 9-month-old in Homewood.

According to Pittsburgh police, emergency responders were dispatched to the 500 block of North Homewood Avenue just before 9 a.m. for the report of an infant in distress. When they arrived, they found a 9-month-old female unresponsive.

She was taken in critical condition to an area hospital where she died a short time later.

Pittsburgh police Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.
