Police: Man found unconscious in Downtown Pittsburgh alley was attacked with BB gun
Pittsburgh police say a man who died after being found unconscious in a downtown alley had been assaulted with a BB gun.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as Christopher Gaylor, 50. He died at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.
According to police, officers and medics went to Coffey Way, near Sixth Avenue, early Tuesday morning for an unconscious man. Medics suspected he was suffering from an overdose and took him to a hospital.
Medical tests found the man had some type of metal shrapnel, possibly from a BB gun, in his body, police said. Gaylor was identified Wednesday through fingerprints.
Gaylor died at the hospital Thursday morning. That same day, police said they got video evidence of him being assaulted with a BB gun on Coffey Way.
Police said they have identified all of the suspects in the video. Police did not say how many had been involved.
An investigation is ongoing.
